Once data has been input into payroll, users will probably need to review slices of that data to determine if costs are in line, where costs are being incurred, and how those costs compare against other benchmarks.

Employee List
Users should have the ability to print an employee list at any time. This list can be used for any number of purposes, and as such users should have the ability to print a summary list of employees or a detailed listing of each employee and the information in the employee master file.

Payroll Report Date Ranges
Depending upon the purpose of the review, some users might want to examine just the current period payroll cost information. Other people might want to look at just the year-to-date, while others want to look at both simultaneously. Finally, some people might want to examine payroll costs for specific time periods of interest to them.

Union Reporting
If some or all employees are members of a union, the employer will have to send employee related information to each union on a regular basis. That may be as simple as a membership roster or possibly a report listing employee union contributions or employer union obligations.
