Visualization Capabilities Features and Functions
This section covers the ability to view different types of product
information regardless of the application used to create the information. This serves to allow broader access to product knowledge by parties that would not have the authoring tools available to them. The section
handles the capabilities generically. Specific integration with CAD and other packages, including visualization, translation and markup, can be found elsewhere in the RFI.

- View multiple objects in one viewed image
- Ability to change the relationship between viewed objects in one viewed image
- View models from different applications in one viewed image
- Change light sources and types, display appropriate shadowing
- Correctly view transparent, translucent and opaque materials
- Correctly view different surface textures
- View images in greyscale or full color
- Create and display accurate cross sections using any plane
- Ability to check for interferences between items in an assembly
- Calculate accurate inertial properties of item or assembly
- Calculate swept volumes for items with motion defined
