The TMS should support the seamless integration of transportation planning, execution, in-transit status, rate, contract, and freight bill information with enterprise level systems as well as point solutions. This will enable a collaborative suite of supply chain management tools, leveraging the investment in legacy applications while providing operations tools for inter-enterprise information sharing.
