ALDI Nord Selects SAP Retail

At the recently held CeBIT 2014 conference in Hanover, Germany, SAP announced that the supermarket chain ALDI Nord has selected the SAP for Retail solution portfolio to support its healthy growth and modernize its retailing. The standard enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution will replace the company's previous in-house system and will be used to manage retail processes at all company locations, from orders and warehouse management to store deliveries.
ALDI Nord aims to achieve greater transparency in its goods and finances transactions, from the vendor to the customer, with SAP for Retail. The company hopes it will now need much less time to provide its regional subsidiaries with extensive business reports.
ALDI Nord is already implementing the solution and aligning its business processes with the best practices by SAP. Thanks to SAP’s template-based approach, the retailer plans to complete the rollout in short order.
Given that many retailers have traditionally been inclined to use their own custom in-house systems, this win should be encouraging to SAP and other vendors that offer broad solutions for retailers.
