ARINC Selects Deltek Costpoint MES for Aircraft MRO Operations

ARINC reportedly considered several different manufacturing execution system (MES) options, including “standalone” product offerings specifically designed for maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO)-type environments. The company also considered custom solutions, as well as upgrades to its existing legacy systems. In the end, however, the company found that Deltek Costpoint MES met its needs better than any other product offering that they considered.

Costpoint MES meets ARINC shop floor needs by covering everything from engineering instructions and designs, to data collection, quality control, employee certification, tool calibration, and more. Costpoint MES did not need expensive and time-consuming customization in order to meet the company’s needs. In addition, it offered ARINC a completely integrated approach for the entire MRO life cycle—including project cost estimates, designs, shop floor work, project status and management, and invoicing and accounting.

The connection between Costpoint MES and Deltek Costpoint ERP is a game-changer because it is yet another example of how Deltek connects the project threads inside a company’s business. With the seamless integration between the two solutions, materials consumed can be reordered automatically and work completed on the shop floor can be billed for almost instantaneously. This connection accelerates cash flow and ensures materials are always at hand. It is pretty interesting to see Deltek start getting into the supply chain and manufacturing world, beyond its traditional project management and accounting world.
