Accellos Acquires PROFITsystems to Get into Retail

Accellos, a mid-market provider of supply chain execution (SCE) software solutions, has acquired PROFITsystems, a provider of software-as-a-service (SaaS) solutions for small and medium-sized home goods retailers. Accellos was founded on the premise that small and mid-sized business and logistics service providers need a single-source supply chain software partner. This vision has manifested itself in the acquisition and integration of seven supply chain software companies and the development of a unifying product technology—the AccellosOne platform.
More than 4,000 companies use Accellos warehouse management system (WMS), transportation management system (TMS), and electronic data interchange (EDI) compliance software to run their supply chains. Consistent with this strategy, Accellos has extended its supply chain solution to the last segment of the supply chain—the retail store—as distribution, logistics, and transportation are critically important to home goods retailers.
PROFITsystems is the market leader in software for small and medium-sized home goods retailers, such as furniture retailers. Its flagship product, RETAILvantage, is a cloud solution that manages all aspects of a home goods retail operation, including inventory management, distribution management, point of sale (POS), customer management, accounting, and business analytics.
The acquisition will be a new product line for Accellos, whereby RETAILvantage will be known as “An Accellos Product.” While Accellos will continue to sell and maintain that product, it will be integrated into Accellos’ Supply Chain Business Unit, which already contains the aforementioned EDI and WMS products. Most of the product leveraging will likely come from PROFITsystems customers who have increasing complex physical distribution requirements and require supply chain solutions previously unavailable through PROFITsystems alone.
