Avinor Selects IFS for Quality Assurance Reporting

IFS recently announced that Avinor has chosen IFS solutions for health & safety, quality assurance (QA), and risk management to streamline HSEQ-related (health, safety, environment, and quality) reporting. Avinor is a state-owned company that is responsible for planning, developing, and operating the Norwegian airport network. Avinor operates 46 airports in Norway, including air traffic control towers, control centers, and technical infrastructure for aircraft navigation. HSEQ and nonconformance reporting are crucial business processes.

Following Avinor’s decision to implement IFS Applications 8 in late 2012, the company has chosen to implement the additional components IFS Health and Safety, IFS Quality Assurance, and IFS Risk Management, which were launched at IFS’ user conference in 2012. Avinor selected IFS to replace its internally developed system for incident reporting, preparation of statistics, and electronic reporting to authorities after a public procurement and evaluation process.

Leveraging mobile smartphone apps for field reporting and OLAP cubes for data processing, the system will be used by some 3,900 Avinor employees working at airports all over Norway. The IFS solution will be equipped with interfaces for Microsoft SharePoint and mobile devices, developed by IFS technology partner Din ERP. The contract includes licenses and services worth approximately NKr 10 million. The implementation will start immediately and should be completed by June 2014.
