Chinese Electrical Accessories Manufacturer Selects Infor

Infor recently announced that Jiangsu JiaMeng Electrical Equipment, a specialized manufacturer of cable and wire accessories, has selected Infor LN, Infor ION, Infor Ming.le, Infor BI, and Infor Motion to manage its complex business operations. Infor’s top-of-the-range enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, Infor LN, which supports production processes commonly found in modern manufacturing, from engineer-to-order (ETO) to repetitive, should help the manufacturer increase responsiveness, reduce costs, and integrate project management across the network. The organization expects to have specialized tools for enterprise and supply chain planning to create lean, demand-driven supply networks as well as sales and configuration order management to meet individual customer demands.
In addition, Infor ION, Infor's purpose-built lightweight middleware solution, will connect Infor LN to all other systems in the infrastructure. Also part of the implementation, Infor Ming.le will provide a platform for social collaboration and business process improvement at the company. Teams should be able to organize conversations into enterprise-wide streams; share key screens, data, and attachments; and have relevant data automatically displayed based on the context of discussions.
In addition, also along the lines of helping employees from across the enterprise work more effectively together, Jiangsu JiaMeng Electrical Equipment should be able to give employees anytime-anywhere access to systems, information, and processes in a secure environment with the Infor Motion mobility platform. Last but not least, Infor BI will provide insight into financial and operational reporting and analysis, dashboards, planning, budgeting, forecasting, role-based analytics, data mining, and financial consolidation capabilities.
Infor reportedly had some respected competition in this deal—SAP All-in-One, Oracle JD Edwards, and QAD. Jiangsu JiaMeng Electrical Equipment reportedly selected Infor because it was able to offer multiple interoperable solutions that could help it to take control over all aspects of its operations in order to remain agile and efficient as well as support current and future business strategies to meet manufacturing-specific and corporate goals.
