Concept2 Partners Selects abas ERP

Concept2, a manufacturer of indoor rowing machines and racing oars, founded in 1976 by Olympic athletes, Dick and Pete Dreissigacker, selected abas-ERP as its corporate enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution. The company’s innovative product line includes Dreissigacker Racing Oars, used by 69 percent of all Olympic rowing medalists in the London Games; several indoor rowing machines, including Model D (the bestselling indoor rower in the world); and the SkiErg indoor Nordic ski machine.

Concept2 is expanding its operations into Europe and needed an international package with coordinated support across boundaries that caters to both distribution and manufacturing. Abas fit the bill.

But it was more than just the functional fit that helped make the decision for the Concept2 team. Its staffers reportedly liked that abas-USA staff was more personal than some of the larger ERP companies they talked to, and the abas team offered many ideas for a successful implementation.

A cultural fit with the vendor seems to be an increasingly recurring theme during software selections, sometimes even more important than features and functions.
