Cornerstone OnDemand Adds Social Collaboration and Mobile Capabilities to Talent Management Suite

cornerstone.jpgCornerstone OnDemand introduced a series of new features to its talent management suite. The intent is to address users' mobility, social, and personalization needs such as bring your own device (BYOD) and bring your own application (BYOA).

Upgrades cover the following:

  • Cornerstone Connect: allows employees to collaborate among themselves as well as reach out to executives and managers. It features activity streams and real-time collaboration tools.

  • Project and Task Management: embeds tools for task, project, and goal management within Cornerstone talent activities for learning, performance, succession, and recruiting.

  • Social Performance and Feedback: ensures that employees may provide feedback and badges to their peers and colleagues for work contributions.

  • Cornerstone Mobile: provides employees with access to mobile learning, collaboration, and performance, and real-time tracking of competencies and skills in the field. (Cornerstone OnDemand already supports iOS and Android devices, including smartphones and tablets.)

Adam Miller, founder and CEO of Cornerstone OnDemand explains the decision to provide its clients with the flexibility for a "new world of work":
This means creating a work environment where employees are given easy access to the resources they need to develop, collaborate, advance and be engaged in their jobs in order to perform at their very best.

Since most social talent management technology proponents never really mention disagreement, disenchantment, or stress—obvious aspects of the human condition that spill into our worlds of work, old or new—my question is: how effective would social technology be in facilitating conflict management or stress management?
