Federal Screen Selects abas-USA ERP

abas Software AG continues to be an enterprise resource planning (ERP) company that is less known than it deserves to be. Founded in 1980, abas is a leading provider of cost-effective ERP solutions for midmarket manufacturers and distributors. abas Business Software is an ERP and e-business suite designed specifically for manufacturers in the “to-order” environments.

Most recently, Federal Screen, a Canadian producer of wedge wire screens, selected abas-USA as its ERP provider. The decision to implement an ERP system came as a result of the company’s significant growth. After reviewing hundreds of ERP systems, the team at Federal Screen narrowed down the ERP field based heavily on advanced scheduling and the ability to schedule capacity.

abas reportedly won over Epicor, Infor Visual, Global Shop, and Seradex (a local Canadian provider). Further down the road, Federal Screen discovered the availability of the product configurator, which will drive all orders from quoting, ordering, and drafting, right into scheduling and production. This functionality has such potential to streamline the company’s business processes, and was critical in the final decision to move forward with abas ERP. SolidWorks computer-aided design (CAD) integration and overall system flexibility were the other order-winning factors.

abas software is priced to fit most budgets while delivering full ERP functionality. Operating on LINUX, Unix, and Windows, and coming with free built-in database, content management, and learning management capabilities, abas Business Software has the flexibility, scalability, and ease of use that has demonstrated consistent return on investment (ROI) to its customers. At Federal Screen, abas-USA did a large number of demos and went through some detailed configurations.

The abas AG parent company, meanwhile, has had another year of double-digit growth, and started a new subsidiary, and abas-USA moved to larger offices. The vendor is also getting more cloud inquiries and has won a few deals with abas ERP hosted by third-party providers (single tenant, since the customers wanted lots of personalization).
