Fort Worth Bolt & Tool Selects Epicor Wholesale Distribution ERP

Fort Worth Bolt & Tool Co. of Fort Worth, Texas, has recently selected the Epicor Prophet 21 wholesale distribution enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution as well as Epicor B2B Seller to support e-commerce (to facilitate new ways for customers to purchase and interact with the retailer). Fort Worth Bolt & Tool Company was started in 1949 as a retailer of fasteners, hand tools, and portable power tools, and currently has three stocking locations in Texas: Fort Worth, Dallas, and Denton. Epicor Prophet 21 will provide Fort Worth Bolt & Tool with a scalable business management system, allowing this small local distributor to compete with national supply companies.

The company chose Epicor Prophet 21 to replace its previous ERP system, Infor SX.e, while Distribution One V2 was a cursory consideration given its local representation. Epicor’s involvement with the Specialty Tools and Fasteners Distributors Association (STAFDA) was apparently a key deciding factor. STAFDA is a not-for-profit educational trade association comprising distributors, manufacturers, and rep agents of light construction, industrial, and related products. Approximately 200 STAFDA members are currently using Epicor distribution software solutions. Fort Worth Bolt & Tool Co.’s top executive is a member of STAFDA’s board.
