Infor Releases Optiva 11 PLM

Perhaps unique in the industry, Infor has its own product lifecycle management (PLM) offerings for discrete manufacturing, process manufacturing, and the fashion/apparel industry. Indisputably, its most competitive PLM offering is Infor Optiva for process industries such as food, specialty chemicals, and personal care products. Customers provide positive feedback on the product’s capabilities related to formula development, labeling, and regulatory compliance. Infor Optiva PLM enables process manufacturers to make more efficient processes for product development, material selection, cost-efficient formulation, and new product introductions (NPIs), while maintaining compliance with applicable regulatory requirements. These nearly 100 Optiva PLM customers are also much larger companies on average in comparison to the discrete and fashion PLM customers.

Infor recently announced Infor Optiva 11, offering improved project management and workflow rescheduling, allowing users to adjust due date and duration on the fly with simplified drag-and-drop capabilities. The Stage Gate form includes Gantt chart project visualization and allows users to suspend, cancel, or recalculate workflow scheduling.

In addition, Infor Optiva 11 supports Infor Ming.le, Infor's recently launched platform for social collaboration, business process improvement, and contextual analytics. Based on the recent launch of the Infor 10x platform, Ming.le within Optiva 11 provides the ability for users to connect socially and drill down into the application level to further enhance communication. With built-in Infor 10x tools, Infor Optiva gets a new look-and-feel that provides a consumer-grade graphical user interface (GUI) and helps users take advantage of expanded industry-specific capabilities, make better decisions faster, and work more efficiently. The added workspace enhancements provide users with in-context business intelligence (BI) and a content assistant to simplify functional applications.

Last but not least, Infor Optiva 11 has been upgraded to Microsoft .NET 4.0 and validated for Windows SQL 2012 servers. The solution now delivers the ability to specify languages from form labels, navigation, lookup, error messages, and enumeration labels. As such, Optiva 11 can consolidate information into one repository, and as a platform-neutral PLM solution, it can support systems from multiple vendors (often working alongside SAP).
