Kronos Introduces New Capabilities to SMB Cloud Offering

kronos.jpgKronos Incorporated has announced improvements to Kronos Workforce Ready, its cloud solution for small to medium businesses (SMBs). To date, Kronos Workforce Ready offers functionality for the following SMB human capital management (HCM) requirements:

  • human resources (HR) (includes employee records, performance management, as well as asset management)

  • payroll (allows multiple individuals to work on payroll at the same time)

  • time and attendance (supports flexible pay rules, timecard management, and exception management)

  • absence management (assists with the implementation of absence policies and approvals of paid and unpaid vacations, and it includes action letters templates)

  • scheduling (helps companies set up scheduling policies and add changes to schedules)

  • hiring (offers capabilities to sustain applicant tracking, screening and hiring, and onboarding)

  • labor analytics (offers predefined and configurable reports, key labor metrics, as well as drill-down capabilities)

New capabilities include:

  • Payroll support for organizations with multiple Employer Identification Numbers (EINs): single login and the option to consolidate reporting  and billing across all locations or companies within a parent or holding company

  • Closer integration with ADP to facilitate ADP tax filing, wage garnishments, and check printing for Workforce Ready

  • Expanded support for California Meal Break compliance: part of the time and attendance application allows companies to manage the breaks of multiple employees within a single shift

  • Additional overtime request/approval capabilities: for managers who need to view and approve overtime

  • Built-in online training and education via KnowledgePass at no cost to customers

Kronos' updates for its SMB solution expose the expected HR needs of SMBs, such as compliance with local regulations and requirements, fair monitoring of time and attendance, as well as tighter integration with the ever-popular ADP. However, the addition of learning tools through Kronos' KnowledgePass might reflect the fact that modern SMB employees may be interested in learning as part of their compensation packages, which, in the past, was perceived as an expectation of employees of large enterprises.
