Magmic Is Game for NetSuite’s TribeHR HCM System

Magmic, a developer of more than 200 games such as Ka-Glom and Texas Hold'em King and mobile apps based on content licensed from companies like Mattel and Disney, recently deployed NetSuite's TribeHR human capital management (HCM) system to streamline its human resources (HR) management with features including a social recognition system, skills tracking, goal-setting, and employee performance reviews. The Ottawa, Canada-based company also uses the cloud HCM offering to improve time tracking and calendaring, and for a transparent organizational chart.

Before NetSuite TribeHR, Magmic's HR team reportedly struggled with Excel- and paper-based processes and with the inability to support structured and systematic HCM processes. For instance, managers lacked a centralized system to track employee time off such as vacation and personal days, introducing the risk that too many key personnel would be out as an important deadline approached.

TribeHR complements the NetSuite cloud enterprise resource planning (ERP) offering that replaced Sage at Magmic in 2012. Although NetSuite’s HCM product is on a different technology platform, it will be eventually integrated with its ERP sibling, but will also continue to be sold separately—it’s currently at over 50 joint customers with NetSuite. In Magmic’s case, the integrated cloud ERP and HCM solution manages both its business and people processes, and provides visibility into business and HR performance, as well as a single system of record for employee information.
