Market Impact

The mind boggling growth of Internet based messaging mailboxes doesn't appear to be slowing down at all, in fact, it's speeding up. Given the demand for Internet based messaging, opportunity has been created for service providers and resellers alike. Mirapoint has expanded its presence in the ASP/ISP messaging community, both in terms of name recognition and product functionality and has logically implemented a partner program called MAPP.

Within the 'MAPP' program, there are two levels or designations of partnership, service providers and value added resellers (VARs). In order to obtain a Mirapoint partnership, companies are required to have two Mirapoint certified engineers on staff. Some of the advantages or benefits of being a Mirapoint partner are reasonably standard across the industry, such as joint marketing efforts, early access to beta products and a listing in Mirapoint's Partners on the web. Currently Mirapoint has approximately 25 partners globally, which will accelerate the speed of Mirapoint messaging appliance implementations and in turn, increase Mirapoint's market share in terms of hosted Internet messaging mailboxes.

Mirapoint was founded in 1997 and has made tremendous strides into the ISP/ASP messaging community, not to mention implementations into Fortune 1000 companies. They manufacture a turnkey messaging appliance with the lowest cost per mailbox at approximately .87 cents US (including hardware) in the industry, which has fueled demand for Mirapoint's product offerings.

If you are a VAR or Service Provider and are active in the Internet messaging arena, you've probably run into Mirapoint at a trade show, or seen some industry press clippings. If you haven't paid much attention in the past, now would be a very good time to take a closer look. Mirapoint offers a functionally rich product with robust technology coupled with a price point that's low enough to make any IT manager smile. The potential for Mirapoint resellers is indeed strong and a worthwhile pursuit.
