New SAP Integrated Business Planning Cloud Solution Is Here

SAP has launched four new cloud-based applications that enable companies to more quickly develop, orchestrate, and execute integrated business plans with the ability to capture, interpret, plan, and quickly act on real-time information. This is in line with SAP’s strategy to painstakingly rewrite its supply chain management (SCM) portfolio on the SAP HANA in-memory platform (with one common data model) for adoption through SAP Cloud.
Since consumers and customers are increasingly demanding individualized products and services delivered with a higher sense of urgency, supply chains are evolving into demand networks, where demand information is captured through new signals and fulfilled through the orchestration of a complex network of internal and external partners.
The new SAP Integrated Business Planning solution available in SAP Solution Explorer comprises SAP Integrated Business Planning for sales and operations, SAP Integrated Business Planning for inventory, SAP Integrated Business Planning for supply, and SAP Supply Chain Control Tower. In addition to delivering analysis and alerts of real-time information across the supply and demand network, these four apps also offer a collaborative environment for sales and operations planning (S&OP) across global functions, new optimization algorithms, and supply chain monitoring capabilities.
SAP IBP was built on HANA as a new solution, based on the SAP S&OP foundation. These apps can work with existing SAP APO deployments; it will take quite some time before the elaborate SAP APO suite is written on SAP HANA.
