Rootstock Software, provider of cloud manufacturing and supply chain applications on the Salesforce cloud platform, announced that Northeast Lantern (Exeter, New Hampshire) has selected Rootstock’s Cloud Manufacturing ERP to manage inventory and for visibility into production flow on the shop floor.

Northeast Lantern was running all reports in QuickBooks and had to export various reports to Excel to combine them into a single new report just to find the information required. And that didn’t allow the company to track inventory or have a snapshot of production flow. Having complete visibility of inventory and production is especially important as twenty percent of the high-quality solid brass and copper lanterns manufacturer’s output is custom.

Pat Garrehy, CEO and founder of Rootstock Software, explains that “to assure they continue to make a top quality product and make their manufacturing processes more efficient, a company such as Northeast Lantern requires a scheduling engine that dates work order operation routing steps (which can be sequential or concurrent) and processes them against a comprehensive set of prioritization rules.”

The Rootstock solutions enable real-time management of manufacturing, distribution, and supply chain operations from front to back, anytime and anywhere. The company’s manufacturing, distribution, and supply chain apps integrate out of the box with Sales Cloud by salesforce.com and with FinancialForce Accounting. The Rootstock solution bundles 12 applications to support manufacturing and supply chain operations.

One of the innovative modules in the system is the graphical work center and capacity planning tool. But, says Christopher Heal, Northeast Lantern Vice President, “We originally thought there would be a single module that really stood out. However, what impressed us is that each Rootstock module spoke to the others without any thinking or button-pushing by us.”
