Oracle has announced the acquisition of Compendium, a cloud-based content marketing platform provider, to augment the capabilities of its Eloqua Marketing Cloud. Compendium’s solution uses a data-driven approach to align relevant content with customer data and profiles, which helps companies more effectively attract prospects, engage buyers, accelerate prospect conversion, and ultimately drive top-line revenue and loyalty. Compendium builds up a customer’s on-line persona by capturing the interactions and responses to digital content, creating a digital body language unique to a customer’s persona and stage in the buying cycle.

The addition of Compendium gives Eloqua users the ability to better deliver targeted digital content throughout the customer lifecycle. This acquisition plugs a gap in the Eloqua solution as shown in the below picture from Oracle.

Compendium will be a part of the Oracle Customer Experience Cloud. This was one known gap in the Eloqua product and Oracle has quickly filled it with this purchase. The announcement shows that Oracle is not resting in its pursuit to have the most complete cloud solutions for lines of business including sales, marketing, and services.
