Perhaps the best examples of continuing innovation in the existing Oracle ERP product lines were some announcements at the Oracle JD Edwards Partner Summit 2013. The event took place January 28 to February 1, 2013, in Broomfield, Colorado, with more than 600 partner attendees from 31 countries. Oracle announced the launch of Oracle’s JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Health and Safety Incident Management solution, to help organizations reduce or eliminate costly health and safety incidents. The solution manages the business processes associated with recording, tracking, reporting, and analyzing a health and safety incident. With 250 million occupational accidents reportedly occurring worldwide each year, health and safety should be a concern for all organizations.

Tackling Health and Safety Incident Concerns

The vendor also announced Oracle’s JD Edwards EnterpriseOne One View Reporting for Health and Safety Incident Management. JD Edwards EnterpriseOne One View Reporting for Health and Safety Incident Management provides users with an analysis of incidents, identifying trends and producing essential safety statistics to facilitate critical decision making. Oracle’s JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Health and Safety Incident Management and Oracle’s JD Edwards EnterpriseOne One View Reporting for Health and Safety Incident Management are part of Oracle’s JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.1 integrated applications suite.

Together, the two solutions handle incident reporting and notifications, as well as tracking all aspects of actual and potential incident investigations. The reporting capabilities provided by JD Edwards EnterpriseOne One View Reporting for Health and Safety Incident Management aim to help safety officers and other users turn data into actionable information by delivering pre-built query applications and reports about incidents, safety statistics, people/injuries, equipment/property/motor vehicles, and environmental impact. These capabilities should not only help customers reduce costs and meet complex regulatory requirements, but importantly also help them improve safety and prevention initiatives.

Taking advantage of Oracle BI Publisher capabilities embedded within JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, the integrated solution delivers out-of-the-box reports for the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) and helps streamline the development of regulatory reports for other international agencies. This integrated solution for health and safety incident management continues Oracle’s investment in environmental, health, and safety (EHS) measures. It follows on the release of the Oracle Environmental Accounting and Reporting module and can be an add-on to both Oracle’s E-Business Suite (EBS) and JD Edwards EnterpriseOne.

Backward-compatible JD Edwards EnterpriseOne One View Reporting

Extending its commitment to help organizations effectively execute business processes, Oracle also announced at the summit that Oracle’s JD Edwards EnterpriseOne One View Reporting is now available for Oracle’s JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.0 customers. Initially made available to Oracle’s JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.1 customers in 2012, JD Edwards EnterpriseOne One View Reporting is a real-time reporting solution that provides users with a simplified and clear view of the essential data necessary to make informed and timely business decisions.

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne One View Reporting is designed to empower employees and reduce information technology (IT) support spend. It does this by delivering an extensive library of hundreds of pre-built reports to answer the most common business questions from across the enterprise. It’s expected that if business users can create the reports and analysis they need by themselves, without technical knowledge or training, this will lead to efficiencies while freeing up IT resources to focus on more strategic activities.

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne One View Reporting leverages the advanced capabilities of Oracle BI Publisher to allow users to easily access and personalize transaction data into customized lists, charts, graphs, and tables. By combining essential transaction data and master data, including associated descriptions and category codes, the solution delivers a clear and concise view of operational activities and lets users easily access data for creating simple as well as sophisticated reports.

In summary, JD Edwards EnterpriseOne One View Reporting now covers reporting across the enterprise for JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.0 and 9.1 customers. An extensive library of pre-built reports is available for the following modules:

  • Capital Asset Management

  • Financials

  • Human Resources

  • Inventory Management

  • Manufacturing Management

  • Payroll

  • Procurement and Subcontract Management

  • Project Costing

  • Real Estate Management
