Ramco HCM on Cloud Is on a Roll in the Middle East; Africa

Ramco Systems, an enterprise software vendor that has lately been focused on delivering enterprise resource planning (ERP) in the cloud and on tablets and smartphones, recently showcased its all new HR and talent management solution, Ramco HCM on Cloud (HCM standing for human capital management). Since the global launch of Ramco HCM on Cloud in June 2013, Ramco has added some of the largest business conglomerates in the Middle East and Africa region as its customers.

In the last five weeks, Ramco added six new customers for its ERP/HCM on Cloud offering. The customers, all large organizations with multi-country operations, include:

  • Sharaf DG – a leading retail chain with over 8,000 employees across 13 countries, covering UAE, Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Middle East, and Far East

  • Engsol – an engineering solutions company headquartered in Abu Dhabi

  • DaarYaas Group – a retail group with presence spread across UAE, North Africa, and Egypt

  • Al Shabab Club – a leading sports club in UAE

  • Blue Nile Mashreq Bank – a leading bank in North Africa

  • Nesma – a diversified business conglomerate in Saudi Arabia with a portfolio of over 40 companies and over 25,000 employees

Ramco set up its operations in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) in 2006. The six new customers will together add around over 30,000 users for Ramco HCM. The vendor also announced go-live of five HCM customers, which added over 15,000 users in the region on Ramco HCM. Since the launch of its cloud-based solutions in 2011 in the Middle East, the market uptake for Ramco’s offerings (ERP, HCM, and Aviation) has reportedly been growing significantly, resulting in several new customers being added. MENA thus becomes the third largest market for Ramco after India and America.

Ramco HCM on Cloud is a comprehensive solution that covers workforce management, recruitment, talent management, employee development, workforce planning, and payroll and benefits. Ramco’s HCM solutions have interchangeable cloud and on-premise deployment models. The company also offers an integrated payroll on cloud solution for all GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) countries and most of Africa. Ramco’s cloud solutions can be easily extended on mobile devices and can run in-memory based payroll and analytics. The vendor is also well versed in embedding country-specific localization and statutory needs in the base product.

The years of Ramco’s painstaking investment in developing its model-based VirtualWorks platform has helped the vendor offer solutions that are multi-tenanted, service oriented architecture (SOA)-compliant, and modular in nature. It is this architecture that has allowed the vendor to easily adapt to new technologies and launch features such as mobility, social media integration, and location-awareness through Google maps, and others. The modern user interface, with alerts, notifications, portlets on transaction screens, and role-specific WorkSpaces have been other value-add and differentiators.
