Ramco Lands a Major Cloud ERP-EAM Deal in Australasia

Norske Skog Australasia, a subsidiary of Norske Skogindustrier ASA (one of the largest producers of publication paper in the world with nine paper mills worldwide), recently signed an agreement with the cloud enterprise resource planning (ERP) provider Ramco Systems for Cloud ERP integrated with Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) & Financials for its Australasian operations. With three mills in Albury (New South Wales), Boyer (Tasmania), and Tasman (New Zealand), Norske Skog is the largest publication paper producer in Australasia, with an annual production capacity of 715,000 tons of newsprint and magazine grades.
The company was using legacy enterprise solutions for those functional requirements that were due for upgrade. Not many ERP platforms offer this very important EAM module in the cloud, which can help organizations achieve labor productivity gains and efficiencies for effective utilization of expensive capital assets. Ramco’s ‘Power on One’ approach enables asset-intensive industries to get a comprehensive offering that covers their end-to-end needs—ERP, financials, EAM, and human capital management (HCM). Ramco System’s solutions are expected to give Norske Skog Australasia senior executives tools with greater visibility for decision making, including planning for future needs, all accessible via the cloud on mobile devices. In addition to functional completeness, Ramco’s focus on mobility, usability, and context-aware solutions was the winning factors.
The year 2013-14 has seemingly been a defining year at Ramco, as the company strengthened its foothold in the global markets by signing large multinationals, Fortune 500 companies, and fast-growing mid-sized organizations as clients. From being seen predominantly as a domestic-led organization, Ramco today clocks around 69 percent of its overall revenues from markets outside India as compared to 47 percent last fiscal year.
Ramco’s experience in maintaining complex parts of Helicopters and Aircrafts for leading global brands, such as Airbus Helicopters, Columbia Helicopters, Malaysia Airlines, Emirates, and many others, makes it fairly advanced in this area of EAM. With the addition of the paper & pulp manufacturing major Norske Skog, Ramco’s product capability and strength get a further reinforcement in the market. Apart from winning customers, Ramco is seeing greater traction with partners. Global multinational Schneider Electric has recently chosen Ramco’s advanced process control optimization solution OPTIMA to integrate with its suite of offerings to address the global market (read TEC article).
