Ramco’s Good Times in Puerto Rico

Ramco Systems seems to be on a roll of late. Having just recently launched Ramco HCM On Cloud, the Indian enterprise software vendor, focused on delivering its enterprise resource planning (ERP) suite in the cloud and on tablets and smartphones, has announced the opening of a new office, its fourth in the Americas, in Puerto Rico. Ramco has also signed the first Ramco ERP on Cloud customer in the region, Vassallo Industries, a renowned 45-year-old manufacturer of PVC pipes and accessories for water and sanitary use (and other plastic products) with distribution in Central and South America, the Caribbean Basin, the United States, and Canada.

This deal was signed through Ramco’s partner XTRATEGIT. Ramco has been steadily growing its footprint in the North American region and counts five new cloud ERP customers and an active partner network. Built on the Ramco VirtualWorks platform, all Ramco products are architected by design for the cloud and address the entire business cycle from transaction to analytics. After evaluating a number of prominent cloud ERP solutions, Vassallo reportedly chose Ramco ERP on Cloud, based on the product strength, industry experience, usability, and flexible costing. The product’s ability to allow mobility and provide role-based WorkSpaces were the clinchers.

Ramco has more than 150,000 users from over 1,000 customer organizations across 35 countries, with several global offices. While its North American expansion was somewhat timid over the last decade or so, but Ramco’s Puerto Rico office (the fourth in North America after New Jersey, Atlanta, and Canada) may prove a resounding success. The vendor has seen good success in the Spanish-speaking markets in recent years as manufacturing companies have moved to these countries for lower labor costs. Ramco sees a great opportunity here (given a thriving construction industry as well) and considers this a strategic move.
