Relias Learning Acquires Care2Learn

relias_logo3.jpgE-learning vendor Relias Learning has announced the acquisition of Care2Learn from VectorLearning. Relias Learning specializes in developing e-learning solutions for the senior care industry in North America. Through the acquisition, Relias Learning is aiming to expand its Silverchair Learning Systems with Care2Learn's capabilities to support learning needs for long-term and post-acute care providers and professionals.

Initiated by veteran caregivers, Care2Learn has been used by more than 500,000 healthcare professionals to develop their skills and renew their professional certifications. For example, post-acute care providers use Care2Learn to complete their curriculum of in-service and CE-approved courses for compliance training.

The solution has a library of more than 770 courses, including over 500 accredited courses, spanning more than 17 disciplines. On top of the expertise of its founders, Care2learn incorporates functionality developed by healthcare e-learning and record-keeping provider Upstairs Solutions, with which it merged in 2012.

According to the press release, Relias Learning's new e-learning solutions and content will have the most comprehensive content library and tracking mechanisms. The combined client base will count over 3,500 organizations including independent skilled nursing facilities, large multi-facility organizations, continuing care retirement communities (CCRCs), assisted living providers, home health agencies, and therapy and rehabilitation providers.

The North American health care industry appears to be taking advantage of instructional technology to educate some of the professionals working in this field. This ensures uniform quality and content being delivered across states or provinces.
