Sage ERP X3 Rolling Out to the Cloud

The Sage Group plc recently announced that Sage ERP X3 Online, a pure cloud version of its top-of-the-range enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution, will launch in a controlled release in North America in September 2014. The intent is to offer local midmarket businesses even more usability and mobility. Global rollout is planned, but dates have not yet been specified.
As a cloud solution, Sage ERP X3 Online is aimed at businesses that value the ease of deployment, accessibility, simple management, and low total cost of ownership (TCO) of an online service, without compromising the functionality and scalability of the recently released Sage ERP X3 version 7. With a completely redesigned intuitive web user interface (UI) based on HTML5, which supports multiple browsers and user personalization, Sage ERP X3 version 7 also offers mobile access, a number of web apps, Microsoft Office integration, and a new search function. The platform was developed using cloud native technologies such as HTML5, MongoDB, Elastic Search, JSON, and Node.js.
The Sage ERP X3 cloud functionality appears to be equivalent to that of the on-premises solution. There are not many details on potential partner cloud add-on solutions (market places or app stores). Nor is pricing yet available.
