ShopSocially Joins Demandware’s LINK Marketplace

ShopSocially, a social commerce platform provider, announced that it has become a Demandware LINK Technology Partner, joining a community committed to accelerating the adoption of innovative commerce technologies that are complementary to the Demandware Commerce platform. Through the LINK Technology Partner program, ShopSocially has developed a prebuilt integration between its social commerce platform and Demandware Commerce. This integration should enable Demandware clients to add social commerce modules to their digital commerce sites in a fraction of the time normally required.

ShopSocially’s social commerce platform provides a set of tools that enable an online retailer to leverage social media. The vendor touts delivering extraordinary return on investment (ROI) with an average of 17.5 percent revenue uplift. Additional benefits include new customers, search engine optimization (SEO) boost, deep user insights, e-mail and fan acquisition, and word-of-mouth branding.

For example, apps like Get-a-Fan and Social Connect help identify loyal shoppers and convert them into Facebook fans and brand ambassadors on social networks. While rewarding shoppers for their social engagement with brand, these modules can collect richer social profiles of website users, for deep social insights into users’ interests and preferences.

Moreover, social sharing apps like Share-a-Purchase and Share-on-Mobile allow brands to tap customers at the point of maximum delight in the shopping process and disseminate this delight on social media channels, creating authentic word-of-mouth endorsements. These social testimonials can bring high-quality social traffic back to the website, which then converts at a significantly higher rate.

ShopSocially believes that this prebuilt integration with Demandware will be an advantage for retailers who have many demands on its social technology resources. Often technical integration and ongoing maintenance turns out to be one of the key obstacles in implementing a successful social commerce strategy. Now, all retailers on Demandware’s platform have instant access to ShopSocially. There are reportedly already three big brand name Demandware customers who are getting ready to deploy ShopSocially.

There are other social products in the Demandware ecosystem but none that encompasses all social functionality in one comprehensive platform. Retailers would typically have to integrate with multiple different products to get access to the same functionality. On the other hand, ShopSocially is present in some other e-commerce platform ecosystems including Magento, BigCommerce, Volusion, etc. The vendor is in conversations with several others but many of them are closed systems (both in terms of technology and culture) and it takes longer to partner with them.
