The latest release of the Tenrox solution for professional services automation (PSA), Tenrox 2013 R2 was announced by Upload Software. Tenrox is the only workflow-driven cloud PSA solution available for services organizations, and it is part of the broader portfolio of cloud-based enterprise software solutions for project, portfolio, and work management. Through acquisitions, Upland now has an impressive family of cloud solutions that includes Tenrox, PowerSteering, EPM Live, Timesheet.com, and FileBound.

This is a major release of the Tenrox product, and the enhancements are built to transform the user experience with increased ease of use and better insight into project financials and resource utilization. The release will drive the product's adoption with a redesigned user interface, new mobile apps, and configurable home page views.

The release was based on voice-of-the-customer input and came to fruition via intensive R&D efforts. “This progressive, forward-thinking release has transformed the Tenrox application, enhancing the customer experience by setting the new standard among PSA solutions for ease of use, real-time visibility and flexibility,” explains Kevin Sequeira, Upland Software’s Director of Product Management for the Tenrox product line.

The key enhancements in the Tenrox 2013 R2 feature set include the following:

  • New User Interface: Tenrox now sports a new, clean design with streamlined navigation, modernized icons, and easier-to-view formatting.

  • New Home Page:  Users can now build a personalized home page whereby they can view all their assigned items from all the Tenrox modules.

  • New Tenrox Mobile Apps:  New Tenrox Time & Expense mobile applications for smartphones and tablets are now available on the iOS, Android, Windows, and BlackBerry platforms.

  • Role-based Resource Planning:  This component is now more powerful while being simplified and more configurable—empowering organizations to find and assign resources to the right project to drive improved productivity, utilization, and capacity planning.

  • New Financial Planner: Part of the Project Financials Module, a new financial planner feature, allows users to forecast a project’s cost and revenue and display both actual and forecasted labor, expenses, and charges in a single view.

  • MS CRM Online Integration on the Tenrox Quick Connect platform.  A new out-of-the-box integration to Microsoft CRM Online allows projects and opportunities from MS CRM to flow into Tenrox and keep performance indicator (KPI) data from Tenrox displayed in MS CRM.

  • Tenrox Project Planning Performance Upgrade: This component of the Project Planning Module offers an expanded project management footprint with new capabilities to manage clients, programs, and service practices.

Upland Software, with these extensive enhancements to the Tenrox product, looks to be fully committed to supporting its existing Tenrox customers and continuing to grow the solution's customer base. One had to wonder whether there would be a letup by Upland on the Tenrox product, but the good news for customers is that the opposite appears to be the case.
