Wayfair, a US-based Internet retailer offering home furnishings and décor from more than 12,000 brands, has selected LLamasoft Transportation Guru as the standard application for supply chain network design and transportation route optimization throughout the company’s global enterprise. With just under $1 billion in revenues in 2013, Wayfair has warehouse and corporate locations across the United States as well as in Australia, Germany, Ireland, and the United Kingdom.

LLamasoft supply chain design software helps organizations design and improve their supply chain operations by modeling, optimizing, and simulating their supply chain networks. Customers have cited major improvements in cost, service, sustainability, and risk mitigation.

Supply Chain Guru is Llamasoft’s flagship product; Transportation Guru is a stand-alone tool, although it started out as a module within Supply Chain Guru. The Supply Chain Guru platform, when used for network optimization, often competes with tools such as IBM's ILOG LogicNetPlus (LNP) and Infor CAPS Logistics.

At Wayfair, Transportation Guru is expected to not only integrate network optimization and vehicle route optimization, but also simplify the company’s data input and output analysis, enabling it to more quickly identify opportunities for freight savings in the supply chain.
