Event Summary

NEW YORK, June 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Blink.com, the leading innovator in bookmark management and Web searching, announced the launch of their new wireless application protocol (WAP) bookmark manager, Blink WAP (http://wap.blink.com), which promises to radically improve the wireless Internet experience for users of Web-enabled cell phones and other WAP devices. A streamlined version of the Blink.com site, Blink WAP allows users to configure their folders of favorite bookmarks on their PC or laptop, then remotely access their accounts and utilize many of the valuable features on Blink, including searching and organizing links. Market Impact

Utilizing a WAP enabled device, such as an Internet Ready Phone or WAP enabled PDA, Blink.com registered users will be able to access any Internet browser based bookmarks from virtually anywhere at anytime. This announcement bears no significant impact at the present time due to the general lack of web enabled wireless equipment in the United States. However, if Blink.com focused some advertising revenue outside of the Americas it may have some impact in both Asia and Europe where wireless technology is considerably more advanced.

User Recommendations

Blink.com is ahead of the curve in terms of technology and doesn't necessarily need to be there right now. Within the United States we expect an 18 - 24 month timeframe to allow for wireless device proliferation to occur before any service on the Internet is actively accessed by wireless users.

If you happen to be one of the very few within the U.S. with a WAP enabled device, and use Blink.com to store your bookmarks give it a try. And the best part, its free.
