Event Summary

In May, MessageClick, a leading Unified Communications company, announced a partnership with RCN Corporation, a leading broadband services company, and one of the largest ISP's in the country, to provide messaging services to RCN's business customers.

Market Impact

RCN has teamed up with MessageClick to provide its business-based users a complete suite of Unified Messaging tools including point-to-point e-mail, fax, and voice mail. RCN users who are interested in the service will need to contact their representative to enable the Unified Messaging functionality.

RCN is being proactive in its approach to enhanced communications. By hopping on the Unified Messaging service provider 'bandwagon' now, they will solidly entrench themselves within the cutting edge of e-mail extension and growth; suggesting they (MessageClick and RCN) will become a force to be reckoned with in the very near future.

User Recommendations

If you are a business that uses RCN for your Internet access and e-mail, give your sales representative a call. The addition of voice and fax into a user's existing inbox will improve overall efficiency while driving down the costs associated with faxing and voicemail retrieval. RCN is one of the largest ISPs in the country and is taking the appropriate steps to maintain its foothold on the ISP ladder. The alliance with MessageClick will improve not only RCN's functionality, but also its viability as we look into the future.
