Event Summary
Hewlett-Packard has announced it is using mySAP.com as a key component for its
world-wide internal operations. "mySAP.com" is an Internet portal which connects
thousands of SAP customers to each other. HP's implementation, will allow the
development of a common backbone linking employees, customers and partners.
The announcement builds on a 10-year HP and SAP relationship that has led to
6,000 installations of SAP R/3 on HP systems and more than 100 businesses outsourcing
the management of their R/3 environments to HP.
The
agreement also enables HP's IT organization to work with SAP in an effort to
enhance mySAP.com functionality in areas such as product life-cycle management,
planning and optimization, and business intelligence.
In
addition, as part of a joint development effort, SAP is exploring how to integrate
e-speak into mySAP.com to introduce dynamic brokering capabilities into mySAP.com
Workplace and mySAP.com Marketplace solutions.
