Sky by FieldOne is now TEC Certified for online evaluation of field service management (FSM) solutions in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Evaluation Centers. Certification ensures that FieldOne has demonstrated Sky's support for specific real-world business processes chosen by TEC analysts, and that TEC analysts have analytically and comparatively reviewed research questionnaire data about Sky against known benchmarks. What differentiates Sky from other FSM products is that it is not a proprietary solution and therefore it allows clients who have expertise in Microsoft Dynamics XRM platform to customize the product themselves without going back to the vendor. The ERP and CRM Evaluation Centers enable you to compare and evaluate functionality based on TEC’s comprehensive ERP model. Data used in the Evaluation Center are obtained from the vendor’s responses to TEC’s request for information (RFI). Certification ensures that FieldOne has demonstrated Sky’s product capabilities to a TEC analyst. Based on the responses the vendor provided in its completed TEC RFI, Sky RFI data has been reviewed analytically and comparatively by a TEC analyst against known benchmarks.

Background and Analyst View

FieldOne has been around since 200 1 in the business of field service management (FSM). Before developing Sky, the company developed another FSM solution, called Terra, which had been designed for the small to medium business (SMB) market. Although the solution had very strong features, it had limited integration capabilities. As a result, the company had to envision a completely new architecture and product that would be able to compete  in a market where end users already relied on enterprise software solutions from the likes of SAP, Oracle, and Microsoft, among others. TEC Analyst Observations on Sky by FieldOne

FieldOne focuses on companies with annual revenues of at least $10 million (USD) but it can deliver to smaller companies if needed. In terms of number of employees, its main focus is companies with 100 and more employees, but, again, it can support companies with 25 to 100 employees if needed; support for smaller companies is not a capability at the moment. From a budget perspective, Field One best serves those companies ready to spend at least $50,000 (USD) for software purchase and implementation, with the potential to support companies with budgets of $25,000 to $50,000 (USD).  Read more
