Company and Product Overview

StarGarden has been operating since 1984—at that point the company was called Pathfinder. The company started out as a custom coding provider, taking various commissions. One of these commissions was an HR payroll system for the Ministry of Labour in British Columbia, Canada. TEC Analyst Observations on StarGarden SGHR

StarGarden SGHR is a great fit for local government, health care, and education institutions, or any complex organization with more than 250 employees and with revenue ranging from $10 million to $250 million (USD). From a software selection budget perspective, the company can best address the needs of organizations that can spend at least $50,000 and at most $500,000 (USD).

Geographically, it has a strong presence in US, Canada, and New Zealand, and it delivers its software in both English and French.

The two modules where StarGarden SGHR scores the highest are Payroll and Training. It is natural that the system is very well equipped for payroll requirements, as it commenced as a payroll system. Except for the Security and Audit submodule of TEC’s Payroll module, the product gains a maximum score, offering extensive support in the following submodules: Profile for Employee Payroll, Earnings and Deductions, Eligibility Parameters, User Balances, and Automated Time Sheet.
