Introduction

Every day, airlines face the challenge to reduce operation and maintenance costs and they are forced to look for better options. Advances in information technology (IT) have leveraged the development of enterprise resource planning (ERP), business process management (BPM), corporate process management (CPM), and computerized maintenance systems (CMMS). Although these solutions have been designed for general purposes, some of their features can be applied to very specific organizations.
