17 Rules of the Road for Customer Relationship Management
Customer relationship management (CRM) is more than a product—it’s a philosophy. That’s why, when it comes to CRM systems, it’s important to understand all the benefits of an integrated application before beginning the selection process. After all, just as a chain is only as strong as its weakest link, a CRM solution is only as good as its implementation.

NoSQL for My BI Solution?
Every day business intelligence (BI) gets closer to chaos. Don’t get me wrong—I’m by no means saying that BI will one day become obsolete and that you'll need to avoid it at all costs. On the contrary, <!--more-->what I mean is that BI will have to go outside the box into a world where data is not nicely structured within well-defined databases and using Structured Query Language—best known as SQL

Design for Serviceability
When the product alone was the primary basis of competition, the life of a design engineer was a lot simpler. No more. Design engineers are being asked to make an increasingly complex set of trade-offs, requiring a very cross-functional and inter-enterprise approach to the design process.

SAP Defies Economic Slowdown, For Now
In January, SAP announced upbeat results for Q4 2000, in contrast to the current market slowdown. However, 8% license revenue growth in North America is much less compared to recent reports from its direct competitors, indicating a possible loss of market share and the fact that not all troubles have been left behind.

Is ERP Through SaaS Ready for Prime Time?
How many of you have walked into a store with the expectation that the product you purchase will probably not work? How many industries do you think can get away with product defects and incompatible components? For almost three decades, the software industry has convinced consumers that “Bugs” (product defects) and “System Integration” (incompatible components) is a cost of doing business
