Abstract: Card auditing and calculating takes a great deal of
time, particularly for companies using full-
time time-keepers to calculate and audit
time cards. If the
time cards are handwritten, it takes even more
time to review, calculate, edit, and (typically) re-enter the data into a payroll system. However, automation reduces audit
time by pre-processing punches against rules defined within the system.

Abstract: Real-time data warehouses are common in some organizations. This article reviews the basic concepts of a real-time data warehouse and it will help you determine if your organization needs this type of IT solution.
Abstract: This white paper discusses how session initiation protocol (SIP), real-time transport protocol (RTP), and extensible messaging and presence protocol (XMPP) can work together to harness the unique strengths of each protocol within and across applications. Each protocol has a role in powering the real-time Internet, and this paper highlights how they complement each other to create a whole solution.
Abstract: For real estate companies, poor property management can be disastrous, increasing both costs and maintenance problems. The end result: dissatisfied customers—and poor competitive prospects. Communication is also integral to property management, so to keep its customers happy and to improve its maintenance practices, Inmobiliaria Colonial, a major Spanish real estate company, decided to implement an enterprise portal solution.
Abstract: It can be a real problem keeping prices competitive when manufacturing costs are soaring. Over-pack and giveaway can be a huge drain on company profits. However, real-time weight control software can pay tremendous dividends if implemented properly. Integrating a weight control database into an existing system can reduce errors, “fool-proof” data collection, and shift the system from reactive to proactive.
Abstract: Today’s extensive use of data collection tools coupled with the easy access to communication networks has woven more devices and systems into the fabric of our daily lives. As the scale of integration and complexity grows, so does the need for the appropriate paradigm to address it. In order to scale, system software architecture must be organized around a common-shared information model that can span multiple systems.
Abstract: As the web has evolved from being an information exchange medium to a medium of business transactions, it has become critical for businesses to ensure their web sites are available 24x7. And since the user experience is governed by how well site-associated application components perform, effective and proactive monitoring that drills down to the root cause of problems is imperative.
Abstract: Managing huge volumes of customer e-mail can be a daunting challenge. Indeed, for organizations that deal with a high volume of e-mail, shaving seconds off average e-mail response time can save hundreds of thousands of dollars. The key to managing this influx is to reduce average total e-mail response time. Learn about the three components of total e-mail response time, and find out how you can improve in each of these areas.
Abstract: How many ERP vendors, including the largest ones, have natively built-in real-time production monitoring, warehousing management, time and attendance capture, and complete quality management systems?
Abstract: To achieve sustainable success in selling a product or service, you only need to present the right offer to the right customer via the right channel—at the right time. Of course, it’s not really that simple. But service firms are finding it’s possible to make the right offers, through customer-selected channels, in real time. Find out how you can leverage your customer data to create opportunities for revenue generation.
Abstract: The exponential growth of storage requirements is driven by the information age—the thirst for information and the increased complexity and size of applications, operating systems, and data. There are bigger disks storing an abundance of larger files than ever before, so the effects of fragmentation can worsen noticeably over time. To keep up with same-day performance degradation, disks must be defragmented in real time.
Abstract: The term “triage” refers to the process by which service managers rank the status of IT structures in priority, and sort them based on their need for immediate action. In today’s environment, this process is very cumbersome and time-consuming. Thus, in order to effectively manage IT infrastructures, service manager need tools that allow them to make assessments in real time.
Abstract: Demand for instant access to dispersed information is being met by vendors offering enterprise business intelligence tools and suites. Portlet standardization, enterprise information integration, and corporate performance management are among the proposed solutions, but do they really deliver real time information?
Abstract: Internet advertising firm Real Media has decided to file for an IPO, at last joining its major competitors, DoubleClick and Engage.
Abstract: Life sciences manufacturers face new pressure on operations from many directions, including market needs, compliance requirements, and the transition to new IT technology. Many companies recognize that improving performance demands better sync with the plant floor and more accessible data. A real-time performance management solution can help drive excellence in manufacturing performance via better integration. Learn how.
Abstract: As countries frequently increase and revise border security protocols, participating in global trade has become increasingly complex. Compliance and supply chain managers can no longer solely rely on personal knowledge and paper-based processes to effectively plan and manage global trade. You must have real-time access to critical trade information and the ability to automate global trade management processes. Learn more.
Abstract: For many companies, the second largest cost after people is facilities. Solutions have evolved from traditional out-tasking and outsourcing to the more recent strategy of integrating facilities management and real estate under a single service provider. But first, understand marketplace realities: provider capabilities don’t always line up with buyer expectations. Learn about the challenges of integrating these services.
Abstract: Many large companies don’t realize the pains network administrators take to maximize real estate in the data center. The keyboard/video/mouse (KVM) switch can help by enabling IT pros to effectively manage the continual expansion of data centers. Learn how organizations of all sizes can optimize their data centers using KVM and remote technology to set new standards of excellence in reclaiming precious rack space.
Abstract: This white paper describes how interdomain federation happens with the Jabber Extensible Communications Platform (Jabber XCP). If you’re a service operator, line-of-business manager, security professional, or application developer, we’ll help you understand the benefits and challenges involved in building communication 'clouds' using real-time technologies such as extensible messaging and presence protocol (XMPP).
