Abstract: Most of the manufacturing software vendors have planning and scheduling software which assume either infinite production capacity for calculating
quantities of raw material and work in progress (WIP) requirements or infinite
quantities of raw and WIP materials for calculating production capacity. There are many problems with this approach. This paper discusses the pitfalls of this approach and how to avoid these by making sure that the software you buy indeed takes into account finite
quantities of required materials as well as finite capacities of work centers in your manufacturing facility.

Abstract: With the advances today in technology it has become obvious that there is a need for maintenance management theory and practice to catch up with the advances made in business management theory and practice generally. The current state of CMMS technology is at a very advanced level, in a lot of cases far more so than our ability to apply it. This tool has very strong and provable results.
Abstract: The implementation of an enterprise level system is a tumultuous event with far reaching consequences throughout an organization. Therefore we can see the implementation process as a means of taking the quantum leap in maintenance management techniques.
Abstract: Despite all of these great advances in our work environments the great majority of plants and industrial organizations continue to operate in a reactive state of maintenance. Why is this so? Today the functionalities of CMMS, or the technology to manage maintenance, have outstripped our abilities to do so in practice.

Abstract: How can you transport large quantities of goods efficiently, without affecting cost and profitability across the supply chain? Moreover, how do you accurately track and document the movement of these goods? Some companies are using the latest technology to manage their quantity distribution, by applying radio frequency identification (RFID) label products to plastic pallets and reusable plastic containers (RPCs).
Abstract: Historically, IT administrators have provisioned new servers with every new application, resulting in a large number of servers with utilization rates of 10 to 15 percent or less, commonly known as server sprawl. Server sprawl is responsible for a range of costs, including infrastructure, hardware, software, and management costs. So why hasn’t hardware virtualization solved your server sprawl issues yet?
Abstract: By using radio frequency identification (RFID) technology, automotive companies can eliminate material shortfalls of containers, which lead to delivery delays and, in the case of time-sensitive shipments, cause production downtime. Manufacturers, suppliers, dealers, and freight forwarders can all benefit by reducing launch and assembly delays resulting from errors in part quantities, types, and locations for containers targeted for production lines.
