Abstract: As businesses adopt enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems to give their departments accurate and accessible shared data, human resources (HR) isn’t being left out of the loop. In fact, most major ERP vendors now offer their customers HR modules that help automate an array of tasks while generating crucial data for enterprise planning and optimization. Abstract: Using our EAM Evaluation Center, we compared Mincom Ellipse, CHAMPS, and IFS head-on. For the overall rankings, we looked at the vendors in two basic configurations: with back-office (HR and financials) functionality, for a total of eight main modules, and without, for a total of six main modules. To eliminate any chance of bias, and to ensure a level playing field, all 3,146 criteria comprising the modules and submodules in the EAM request for information (RFI) were given equal weight and priority.

Abstract: Invensys has announced a new division, Baan Process Solutions Group (BPSG), which combines the PRISM and Protean process ERP products with the Baan Dimensions and Baan IV Process products. The announcements also include integration of a series of additional Baan modules for PRISM and Protean. Abstract: The most recent merger looks initially like a positive move for both companies and their customers, since Agilisys further enlarges a foothold in the discrete automotive manufacturing (which it has recently started with BRAIN) and solid SCE product modules that it might embed into its own SCM suite and possibly cross-sell into many industries (yet to be scrutinized, though).
