Addressing Strategy Management and the Balanced Scorecard
Your Challenge: Get Decision Makers' Approval for Strategy Management and Balanced Scorecard. Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Time-Bound. Organizations often see a significant gap between their strategic plans and their ability to execute them, and many try to implement scorecards to solve precisely this problem. Unfortunately, most organizations look solely at the warning lights (how close are expenses and revenue to budget) rather than focusing on where they want to go—and how they’re going to get there.

Most financial statements are the results of activities that took place in the past they are not the activities themselves. Provides no context on what s happening in the real world. Budgets are usually the results of negotiations that took place many, many months in the past. Assuming (and this is a big assumption) that budget

In-memory Analytics: Leveraging Emerging Technologies for Business Intelligence
Traditional analytic tools run queries against a data warehouse (DW) with user queries being processed against the data stored on relatively slow hard drives. In-memory analytics leverages a significantly more efficient approach where all the data is loaded into memory. This results in dramatic improvements in query response time and end-user experience. Find out how in-memory analytics can help your organization.

ResponseLogic launches a personalized marketing tool based on expert systems technology. Promising to improve the bottom line of any Web business that markets to consumers, the company charges only when the product makes a valid recommendation.

DIRECT MEMORY ADDRESSING: best practices of traditional direct marketing. Expert systems technology is primarily rules-based, where the marketing specialists set the rules. An inference engine observes the behavior of shoppers and generates recommendations for cross-sells and up-sells. With the inference engine focusing on behavioral aspects the marketer is freed to devise rules based on business objectives. Expert systems technology is sometimes thought of as an older technology than collaborative filtering, on which many

Role of In-memory Analytics in Big Data Analysis
Organizations today need to handle and manage increasingly large volumes of data in various formats and coming from disparate sources. Though the benefits to be gained from analysis of such big data are immense, so are the inherent challenges, including need for rapid analysis. In his article, TEC BI analyst Jorge García discusses how in-memory analytics helps address these challenges and reap the benefits hidden in big data.

DIRECT MEMORY ADDRESSING: transfer, as they point directly to the actual data. Reduce and/or eliminate caching. In-memory databases remove much of the caching by ensuring almost or all the data resides within the RAM memory. Optimize memory use (compression). This feature allows IMDSs to optimize RAM data storage and processing.  So, in-memory databases have already shown advantages in enhancing data processing performance. Now let’s look at how they can help address the challenges associated with big data.   In-memory Meets
