At SAP’s recent SAPPHIRE NOW event, two themes were clear regarding SAP’s focus in the near future—the company’s commitment to simplification, which in SAP terms means to “run simple,” and second, maybe derived from the first idea, to embrace the cloud even more. As ironically as it sounds for the German company, at times accused of doing precisely the opposite with the offering of systems too complex in many aspects, the simplification movement makes sense and accommodates what the industry certainly will require from them and other vendors in the near future.
