Linux Laptops from Dell
Dell now has begun selling two models of its laptops with Linux preinstalled.

Red Hat’s Linux Domination Weakens
Red Hat still controls the Linux market, but now it’s getting some competition from SuSE, Caldera, and TurboLinux.

HR LINUX: growth of its next three competitors. From 1998 to 1999, the Linux market overall grew by 89% (by units shipped), but Red Hat grew only 69%. This is in sharp contrast to the growth of SuSE (175%), Caldera (175%), and TurboLinux (450%). (See Figure 2). IBM Loads Linux on Mainframes
IBM has announced that it will now provide Linux support and services for its largest machines, the S/390 Series of mainframes/servers.

Cobalt Releases Linux Clustering Software
Cobalt Networks, Inc. becomes the latest vendor to jump on the Linux-cluster bandwagon, but does the software they’re touting really qualify as a cluster?
