Master Requirement Planning and Master Production Scheduling Software: Hard FactsPart Two: Materials Requirement Planning and Master Production Scheduling
Most of the manufacturing software vendors have planning and scheduling software which assume either infinite production capacity for calculating quantities of raw material and work in progress (WIP) requirements or infinite quantities of raw and WIP materials for calculating production capacity. There are many problems with this approach. This paper discusses the pitfalls of this approach and how to avoid these by making sure that the software you buy indeed takes into account finite quantities of required materials as well as finite capacities of work centers in your manufacturing facility.

Global Materials Management Operations Guideline/Logistics Evaluation (MMOG/LE)
The MMOG was a self-assessment process developed by the Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) to provide consistent methodology for evaluating supplier performance, identifying weaknesses, and focusing improvement efforts. The Global MMOG/LE incorporates the Odette Logistics Evaluation (OLE), developed by AIAG’s European counterpart, to provide a single global standard for self-assessment. The MMOG is a proven tool for supplier development and provides a recognized industry standard for suppliers who have been asked by customers to complete a self-assessment. Although it was developed by the automotive industry, QAD believes it can be a helpful benchmark tool for customers across many verticals.

Order Forecast Collaboration: Benefits for the Entire Demand Chain
Order Forecast Collaboration: Benefits for the Entire Demand Chain. Find IT Reports, Case Studies, and Other Resources Associated with Benefits for the Entire Demand Chain. When raw materials providers, manufacturers, and retailers work together to calculate future order needs, they can all act on the best information available. Successful order forecast collaboration requires all members to share risks if forecasts vary, and to discuss issues as they arise. Accurate order forecasts drive sales increases, inventory decreases, and better decisions. With so many benefits across the entire demand chain, shouldn’t you look into order forecast collaboration with your partners?

FactoryMaster

MATERIALS 3D MAX: FactoryMaster is a manufacturing software solution that can help organizations use the latest technology in the planning and day-to-day operation of commercial and production processes, covering all aspects of the business in one package. With knowlege in many divisions of manufacturing, FactoryMaster has built a complete modular system that addresses the issues facing manufacturing organizations in today's marketplace. As FactoryMaster adds new functionality requested by customers to the existing package, it has the advantage of offering one package to all customers, as well as an upgrade path for customers who choose to take maintenance and support. For the aerospace industry, FactoryMaster provides interfaces to most of the major aerospace players (including Exostar, Rolls Royce, and Airbus). These interfaces allow the solution to take direct feeds of sales order schedules and, within minutes, run a material resources planning (MRP) system to forecast and plan all materials and assembly requirements to fulfill these orders. This can provide an immediate response to new orders, and helps ensure that users can get an instant view of where issues concerning delivery timescales may occur. The solution also provides materials traceability, which helps give customers confidence that they can identify the source for any product they sell. For the automotive industry, FactoryMaster has built-in materials traceability so users can instantly see what went into each part and where it came from. This is essential for any organization that wishes to offer a quality service for its products. The system also has interfaces that allow data feeds into and out of the system, which eliminates re-keying and also speeds up the time needed to get information processed. Customers can then use these data feeds to do just-in-time production on daily orders. FactoryMaster has built-in control mechanisms that allow a quality plan to be implemented and tracked. An example of this is the drawing change control mechanism. All drawings are tracked by version numbers and so if a drawing changes, the user can instantly see the impact it may have on all aspects of the system, from quotes to work in progress. By allowing FactoryMaster users to track customer part numbers as well as their own internal part numbers, Factorymaster can instantly react to part number changes without impacting the work that is in progress. FactoryMaster also offers functionality for electronics manufacturers. The system allows large bills of material (BOMs), as well as sub-assemblies as part of this. This can allow flexibility in the way systems are constructed, with the use of third-party supplier parts being added into the bills of material. There are also functionalities that allow users to add extra information into the BOMs, such as circuit references. Traceability of the components is also an integral aspect, which gives an ideal trace for warranty claims and supplier rejects. With superior stock control using minimum or maximum stock levels, customers can have confidence that components will always be available. To back this up, the solution provides the MRP capability that can give users recommendations about what needs to be ordered and when it needs to be ordered, to fulfil any outstanding requirements.
