My overall impression of this year’s National Retail Federation (NRF) convention (held recently in New York City) could be summarized in the acronym S.M.A.R.T.: Social, Mobile/Multi-channel, Analytics (big data), and Real-Time visibility (of inventory, orders, workforce, etc.).
